WB Pension /WBPension -ROPA 2019 For Pensioners

The Pension Branch, Finance Department of Government of West Bengal has published, its reports on WB Pension/WBPension-ROPA 2019 For Pensioners vide Notification No- 535–F(Pen) Dated 01.10.2019. Based on the recommendation of the 6th Pay Commission.

This revised WBpension is applicable from 01.01.2020 without taking into consideration any arrear thereof. This notification is applicable to all pre-2016 WB Pensioners/ WB Family Pensioners who used to get the pension as on 31.12.2015.

How this revised WB Pension/WBPension is calculated?

Basically, the revised WB Pension/ WB Family Pension is calculated by multiplying the existing basic WB Pension/Family Pension as on 31.12.2015 by 2.57 factor.

The amount of revised pension so calculated is to be rounded off to next 10(Ten) Rupees, if the said amount is not a multiple of Rs.10(Ten).

What is the minimum amount of WBPension under Ropa 2019 for Pensioners?

The minimum amount of wbepension has been fixed at Rs.8500/- per month. Even if the revised calculation comes to below Rs.8500/-,it is to be fixed at minimum Rs.8500/- p.m with effect from 01.01.2020.

What is the maximum amount of WBPension under Ropa 2019 for Pensioners?

The maximum ceiling on WBpension / family pension has been increased from Rs.35,000/‐ and Rs.21,000/‐ to Rs.1,00,500/‐ and Rs.60,300/‐ respectively.

This means a pensioner is entitled to get a maximum amount of Rs.1,00,500/‐ as wbepension w.e.f 01.01.2020.

On the other hand, a family pensioner is entitled to get a maximum amount of Rs.60,300/‐ as wbepension w.e.f 01.01.2020.

Condition for WB Pension Fixation

The fixation of pension will be subject to the provision that the revised pension, in no case, shall be lower than 50% of the minimum of the Pay in the Pay Matrix in the revised Pay Structure corresponding to the pre‐revised pay‐scale / pre‐revised pay structure from which the pensioner had retired.
