West Bengal 7th Pay Commission Salary Calculator & Fitment Factor

West Bengal government employees are asking an important question: What if the fitment factor is 2.0? How much could their salary increase every month and every year? The actual outcome will depend on the 7th State Pay Commission’s recommendations and the West Bengal government’s final decisions.

The WB 7th Pay Commission Salary Calculator by ArthikDisha helps employees compare their current basic pay under ROPA 2019 with hypothetical revised basic pay under different fitment factors.

It estimates the possible monthly gross salary increase, annual gross salary increase and projected gross salary after pay revision, making it easier to understand the potential salary impact of a fitment factor of 2.00, 2.20 or another value.

The calculator may also help teachers, including West Bengal aided school teachers, and other government employees explore possible salary revision scenarios. You can compare current salary versus projected salary and download a 7th Pay Commission calculator PDF report for reference.

These estimates are illustrative only; the official West Bengal pay matrix and 7th Pay Commission pay-fixation rules will determine the actual revised salary.

West Bengal 7th Pay Commission 2026 Latest News: Government Employees’ Pay Revision

The West Bengal Finance Department constituted the 7th Pay Commission through Resolution No. 2657-F(P1), dated 22 July 2026. A subsequent partial modification, Resolution No. 2760-F(P1), dated 29 July 2026, amended the original resolution and appointed a new chairperson.

On 14 October 2026, vide Letter Memo No. 15/FIN-47/2/2026, the commission asked departments to submit information on posts, services, cadres, and employees through its online questionnaire. This is part of the commission’s review of the existing pay and allowance structure.

West Bengal 7th Pay Commission Fitment Factor: What Does It Mean?

The 7th Pay Commission fitment factor West Bengal refers to a hypothetical multiplier used to estimate revised basic pay from the existing basic salary. This salary calculation with the fitment factor is illustrative only. The WB 7th Pay Commission salary calculator uses the following formula:

Illustrative revised basic pay = Current basic pay × Assumed fitment factor

For example, if your current basic pay under ROPA 2019 is ₹40,000 and you select a hypothetical fitment factor of 2.00, the calculated amount would be ₹80,000. This is a simple fitment factor 2.0 salary calculation, not a confirmed salary fixation.

However, this is only an illustration, not an official recommendation. The actual revised basic pay will depend on the officially notified pay matrix, pay-fixation rules and applicable conditions.

A factor of 2.00 also does not mean gross or take-home salary will double, as DA, HRA, other allowances and deductions affect the final amount.

What If the Fitment Factor Is 2.0? Salary Increase at Fitment Factor 2.0

Consider an employee whose current basic pay under ROPA 2019 is ₹56,100 per month. Using the DA rate of 38% effective from 1 October 2026, as stated in Finance Department Memo No. 2834-F(P2), dated 4 August 2026, we can estimate the current gross salary.

For this illustration, assume HRA at 12%, subject to a monthly ceiling of ₹18,000, and medical allowance of ₹500. The WB 7th Pay Commission salary calculator lets you compare hypothetical fitment factors and estimate the possible monthly and annual gross salary increase.

Warning: These calculations are for illustration only. The final fitment factor, revised pay matrix, allowances and pay-fixation rules have not yet been officially confirmed. Please verify your applicable entitlements against government notifications.

Current Monthly Gross Salary Under ROPA 2019

      Salary componentIllustrative monthly amount
      Current basic pay₹56,100
      DA at 38%₹21,318
      HRA at 12%₹6,732
      Medical allowance₹500
      Current gross salary₹84,650

Now assume, purely to demonstrate the calculation, a fitment factor of 2.00, post-revision DA of 0%, HRA at 12% subject to the ₹18,000 monthly ceiling, and medical allowance of ₹1,000. These future allowance assumptions are not official rules.

Projected Gross Salary After Pay Revision at Hypothetical Factor 2.0

      Salary componentIllustrative monthly amount
      Projected revised basic pay (₹56,100 × 2.00)₹1,12,200
      Assumed post-revision DA at 0%₹0
      Assumed HRA at 12%₹13,464
      Assumed medical allowance₹1,000
      Projected gross salary₹1,26,664
      Estimated monthly gross increase₹42,014
      Estimated annual gross increase (₹42,014 × 12)₹5,04,168

This example is not a forecast of the commission’s recommendation. It carries forward selected allowance assumptions only to demonstrate how the comparison works. The final DA treatment, HRA rate and ceiling, medical allowance, other salary components and pay-fixation rules may be different.

Compare hypothetical fitment factors and explore possible salary increases with the ArthikDisha West Bengal 7th Pay Commission Salary Calculator 2026.

Employees may want to compare more than one possible fitment factor before the final recommendations are known. The calculator lets you compare illustrative scenarios such as:

      • 1.80
      • 2.00
      • 2.20
      • 2.40
      • 2.57 as an additional mathematical comparison scenario only; not an officially confirmed West Bengal fitment factor.
      • A custom fitment factor entered by the user

None of these values should be treated as a confirmed West Bengal fitment factor. The final factor, if recommended, and its method of application must be checked against the commission’s report and subsequent government orders.

For each scenario, the calculator shows the revised basic pay under the 7th Pay Commission, estimated monthly gross salary, monthly gross salary increase and annual gross salary increase.

It also compares different assumptions for post-revision DA, HRA and other regular allowances, helping employees review current salary versus projected salary and understand the projected gross salary after pay revision.

A side-by-side comparison is more useful than looking at revised basic pay alone because the current gross salary already includes applicable allowances. The post-revision allowances may be calculated differently under the final rules.

West Bengal 7th Pay Commission Salary Increase Calculator: Monthly and Annual Gross Salary

This West Bengal 7th Pay Commission salary increase calculator compares your current gross salary with a projected figure based on the assumptions you select. The illustrative calculation follows these steps:

      1. Current gross salary: Current basic pay plus applicable current DA, HRA, medical allowance and any other regular allowances entered by the user.
      2. Projected revised basic pay: Current basic pay multiplied by the selected hypothetical fitment factor. This is a simplified estimate, not official pay fixation.
      3. Projected gross salary: Projected revised basic pay plus the post-revision DA, HRA, medical allowance and any other regular components entered by the user.
      4. Monthly gross increase: Projected monthly gross salary minus current monthly gross salary.
      5. Annual gross increase: Estimated monthly gross increase multiplied by 12.

The annual figure is a simple annualised comparison. It does not include future increments, arrears, one-time payments, taxes or deductions. The calculator does not guarantee take-home pay.

Actual net salary depends on individual deductions such as GPF or NPS contributions, professional tax, income tax, insurance and other recoveries.

How to Use the WB Government Salary Calculator for Revised Basic Pay

      1. Enter your current basic pay as shown on your salary slip under ROPA 2019.
      2. Check the current DA rate and update it if a later official order applies to the salary period you are calculating. The example on this page uses 38% DA effective from 1 October 2026, under Finance Department Memo No. 2834-F(P2), dated 4 August 2026.
      3. Enter your current HRA rate, applicable ceiling, medical allowance and other regular allowances. Enter zero for any component that does not apply to you.
      4. Choose a hypothetical fitment factor, such as 1.80, 2.00, 2.20 or 2.40, or enter a custom factor.
      5. Adjust the post-revision DA, HRA, HRA ceiling, medical allowance and other regular allowance assumptions. These are scenario inputs until the government publishes the applicable rules.
      6. Review the projected revised basic pay, projected gross salary, monthly gross increase and annual gross increase.
      7. Download your PDF report to save the selected assumptions and results for future reference.

The results are a gross-salary illustration. They are not a government-issued pay-fixation statement, pension statement or guarantee of take-home salary.

When Will the West Bengal 7th Pay Commission Report and Revised Pay Matrix Be Announced?

The commission was constituted in July 2026. Its terms of reference say that recommendations should be submitted as expeditiously as practicable, preferably within six months, or within an extended period if the state government considers an extension necessary. This is not a guaranteed publication date or implementation deadline.

In October 2026, the commission was collecting employee, post, service and cadre information from departments. The process may involve further review before recommendations are finalised. The revised pay matrix, if accepted, will require the relevant official documentation and implementation instructions.

ArthikDisha will update this article when there is a material official development, such as publication of the commission’s report, a recommended fitment factor, revised pay matrix, government acceptance, effective date or pay-fixation instruction.

The calculator should be updated only after the relevant rules have been verified.

Employees of aided institutions, statutory bodies, local bodies, government undertakings and other organisations should check whether and how the final orders apply to their service category.

For example, West Bengal aided school teachers salary revision will depend on the final scope, service rules and applicable government orders. Different categories may have different pay structures, allowances or implementation instructions.

Pensioners and family pensioners may need a separate pension-revision calculation. Do not apply a serving employee’s gross-salary formula directly to pension or family pension without checking the specific pension-revision rules.

Important FAQs on West Bengal 7th Pay Commission Calculator

Is the West Bengal 7th Pay Commission fitment factor of 2.00 confirmed?

      Important Clarification
No. The fitment factor of 2.00 used in this calculator is a hypothetical scenario, not a confirmed recommendation or officially notified factor. Employees should refer to the commission’s report and relevant government notifications for verified information.

If my current basic pay is ₹40,000 and the fitment factor is 2.00, what will be my projected basic pay?

      Illustrative Calculation
Multiplying ₹40,000 by 2.00 gives ₹80,000. However, this is only a mathematical illustration. The actual revised basic pay will depend on the officially notified pay matrix, pay-fixation rules and applicable government orders.

How can I calculate my monthly salary increase under the West Bengal 7th Pay Commission?

      Salary Calculation
Enter your current basic pay, applicable allowances and selected fitment factor in the calculator. Compare your current gross salary with the projected gross salary under your chosen assumptions to estimate the difference per month. The result is indicative and not an official salary fixation.

How is the annual gross salary increase calculated?

      Annual Estimate
The calculator multiplies the estimated monthly gross salary difference by 12 to arrive at an annualised estimate. This calculation does not account for future increments, arrears, one-time payments, taxes or deductions.

Does a fitment factor of 2.00 mean that my gross salary will double?

      Basic Pay vs Gross Salary
No. In this calculator, the selected factor is applied to basic pay for an illustrative calculation. Gross salary also includes applicable allowances, such as Dearness Allowance and House Rent Allowance, which may change under the final revision rules. Therefore, a doubling of basic pay does not necessarily mean a doubling of gross salary.

Is this calculator based on the official West Bengal 7th Pay Commission pay matrix?

      Calculator Disclaimer

      Compare Scenarios
Yes. You can compare different fitment factors, including 1.80, 2.00, 2.20 and 2.40, or enter a custom value if the calculator supports it. These figures are intended for mathematical comparison only and should not be interpreted as official recommendations or predictions.

Can I download my salary calculation in PDF format?

      PDF Report
Yes. Use the PDF download option to generate an ArthikDisha-branded report containing your selected assumptions, fitment factor, projected basic pay, estimated monthly and annual gross salary differences, generation date and unique report reference number.

Will this calculator show my exact take-home salary?

      Take-Home Salary
No. The calculator estimates gross salary based on the information and assumptions entered. Actual take-home salary depends on applicable deductions and individual circumstances, including GPF or NPS contributions, professional tax, income tax, insurance premiums and other recoveries.

Can teachers and aided-school employees use this calculator?

      Employee Eligibility
Teachers and aided-school employees may use the calculator for illustrative comparisons. However, whether any revised pay structure applies to a particular category will depend on the commission’s final scope, applicable service rules and relevant government orders. Employees should verify the provisions applicable to their category.

When will the calculator be updated with official West Bengal 7th Pay Commission figures?

      Future Updates
ArthikDisha intends to update the calculator when the relevant recommendations, revised pay matrix and government orders become available and have been verified. Until then, all assumed fitment factors and future allowance values remain illustrative scenarios and must not be treated as officially confirmed figures.
